Air Lease Corporation places $3.2bn Boeing order
Boeing and Air Lease Corporation have announced an order today for ten 777-300ERs (extended range) airplanes. The order, valued at $3.2 billion at current list prices, adds to the growing portfolio of long-haul airplanes for the Los Angeles-based leasing company.
Icelandair boosts Boeing order
Boeing and Icelandair have announced a firm order today for 16 737 MAX airplanes, valued at more than $1.6 billion at list prices. The order, originally announced as a commitment for 12 airplanes in December 2012, has been increased to 16 airplanes and includes 737 MAX 8s and 9s, as well as purchase rights for eight additional 737 MAXs.
SilkAir prepares for Boeing switchover
Boeing and Singapore-based SilkAir have announced a five-year exclusive pilot training agreement. The training agreement will support SilkAir’s fleet transition to Boeing airplanes.
Boeing reports record earnings
The Boeing Company has reported record fourth-quarter revenue of $22.3 billion and core operating earnings that increased by nine per cent to $1.8 billion, driven by strong performance across the company’s businesses and higher deliveries of commercial airplanes.
Boeing boosts production of Next-Generation 737
Boeing has begun assembly of the first Next-Generation 737 to be built at the rate of 38 airplanes per month. Over the past two years, production of the 737 has risen more than 20 per cent, from 31.5 to 38 airplanes a month.
Korean Air outlines fleet expansion plans for 2013
Korean Air will introduce nine additional next-generation aircraft to its fleet in 2013; two A380s, one A330-200, two B777-300ERs, two B737-900ERs, one B747-8F and one B777F. The arrival of the addition two A380s in July and October 2013, will bring the number of Korean Air’s A380s to seven.
Boeing boosts 787-9 production with Utah purchase
Boeing has announced the purchase of a new building in Salt Lake County, Utah. Employees at the new site, located in West Jordan, will focus on fabrication of composite horizontal stabiliser components for the 787-9.
Boeing boosts 777 production rate to meet demand
Boeing has rolled out the first 777 to be built at the increased production rate of 8.3 per month, or 100 airplanes per year. The airplane is a 777 Freighter that will be delivered in February to Korean Air.
Boeing sees near-record aircraft orders in 2012
Boeing booked 1,203 net commercial airplane orders in 2012, the second-largest number in company history. The company also delivered 601 airplanes, the most since 1999.
Aviation Capital Group completes $6bn Boeing 737 MAX order
Boeing has announced an order by Aviation Capital Group for 60 737 MAX airplanes. The order, consisting of 50 737 MAX 8s and ten 737 MAX 9s, was finalised in December 2012 but has only just been revealed.
FedEx Express orders four 767 Freighters from Boeing
FedEx Express, a wholly owned subsidiary of FedEx Corp., has placed an order with Boeing for four 767 Freighters. The order is part of FedEx’s initiative to modernise its fleet.
China Airlines orders six 777-300ERs from Boeing
Boeing and China Airlines have today announced an order for six 777-300ERs (Extended Range) airplanes. The order is valued at approximately $2 billion at list prices. The new airplanes will become the first 777s to join China Airlines’ fleet.
