Hyslop takes up chief technology officer role at Boeing
Boeing has named Greg Hyslop its chief technology officer, replacing John Tracy, a 35-year company veteran who served in the role since 2006 and announced his retirement earlier this year. In March, Hyslop, 57, was named senior vice president, engineering, test and technology, assuming responsibility for the development and implementation of the company’s enterprise technology investment strategy, as well as Boeing’s research and technology, test and evaluation, and companywide engineering functions.

Farnborough 2016: Air Europa places 20 737 MAX 8 order
Boeing and Air Europa has announced an order for 20 737 MAX 8s at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow. “The 737 MAX will complement Air Europa’s growing fleet and is the perfect aircraft for our short-haul operations across Europe to feed our long-haul network from hubs in Madrid and Palma,” said Juan José Hidalgo, president, Globalia, the parent company of Air Europa.
Farnborough 2016: Aviation giants celebrate successful biannual show
American aviation manufacturer Boeing and European rival Airbus have celebrated a successful Farnborough International Airshow. Boeing, which celebrates its centennial tomorrow, has seen multi-billion dollar orders and commitments across the company, including defence platforms, commercial airplanes and services agreements.
Farnborough 2016: TUI Group concludes deal for ten Boeing aircraft
Boeing and TUI Group have signed an order at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow for ten 737 MAX 8s and one 787-9 Dreamliner. The order, valued at $1.4 billion at current list prices, also includes an option for one additional 787-9. With the order, TUI Group now has three unfilled orders for 787-9s and 70 for the 737 MAX.
Farnborough 2016: Kunming Airlines signs 737 MAX 7 deal with Boeing
Boeing and Kunming Airlines has announced a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of ten 737 MAX 7 airplanes at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow. With this agreement, Kunming Airlines, an all-Boeing fleet customer in China, would become launch customer in China for the improved 737 MAX 7 airplane.
Farnborough 2016: EgyptAir signs $900m Boeing deal
Boeing and EgyptAir announced an order today for nine Next-Generation 737-800s at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow. The deal is valued at $864 million at current list prices, with eight of the airplanes to be financed by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The announcement coincides with 50 years of partnership between Boeing and the airline that began with an order for a 707 in 1966.
Farnborough 2016: Boeing predicts $6tn aviation market to 2036
Boeing has projected demand for 39,620 new airplanes over the next 20 years, an increase of 4.1 per cent over last year’s forecast. Boeing released its annual Current Market Outlook on the first day of the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow, estimating the total value of those new airplanes at $5.9 trillion.
Ukraine International Airlines welcomes Boeing 737-800 NG to fleet
As a part of the program of fleet renewal and expansion, Ukraine International Airlines received the fifth out of nine Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft that the carrier plans to acquire in 2016. Leased from SMBC, the Irish leaser, the newly-received Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the UR-PSS registration number.

Deer Jet and Boeing announced jointly at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition, the largest business aviation event in Europe. This VVIP BBJ 787 is truly a Dream Jet. It has a range of 16,000 kilometres and can fly nonstop for 17.5 hours at Mach 0.85.
VietJet places $11.3bn order for 100 737 MAX aircraft with Boeing
Vietjet and Boeing have finalised an order for 100 737 MAX 200 aircraft, the largest ever commercial aircraft purchase in Vietnam’s aviation history. Tran Dai Quang, president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and US president Barack Obama witnessed the historic agreement, which has been valued at approximately US$11.3 billion.
Xiamen Airlines places latest Boeing 737 order
Boeing and Xiamen Airlines, China’s only all-Boeing carrier, have finalised an order for ten Next-Generation 737-800s. The order, valued at $960 million at list prices, will be posted on Boeing’s Orders & Deliveries website once all contingencies are cleared.
