Budget airline bmibaby will be grounded from September, with some routes being stopped from next month, IAG has announced just weeks after it bought bmi from the Lufthansa Group for an undisclosed sum. The move by British Airways’ parent will put 500 jobs at risk.

Midlands based bmibaby is seeking to become the only low cost airline in the UK to launch three new services aimed at both business and leisure customers. Designed to provide flyers with a wide range of added extras, benefits and savings for one set price, bmibaby will now offer customers three options when booking a flight: Fly, FlyPlus or FamilyFly.
