Air France expands network to Barbados

Air France will be offering up to two weekly flights to Barbados from Paris-Orly with a connection in Pointe à Pitre or Fort de France. The flights from Pointe à Pitre and Fort de France to Barbados will be offered on a code-share basis with Air Antilles and operated by ATR 72 and ATR42. On these flights, the company’s customers will also earn Miles as part of the Flying Blue loyalty program.

Sandals Resorts International has broken ground on a multi-million dollar expansion of its Dover Beach property in Barbados, marking the commencement of the construction of an additional 222 rooms and suites. Dubbed Sandals Barbados “Phase II”, this expansion when complete in November 2017, will add to the existing 280-room count and firmly place the property as the largest Sandals resort in the Eastern Caribbean.

Following the announcement of Barbados’ two new divisions of tourism - the Barbados Tourism Marketing and the Barbados Tourism Product Authority – the BTMI has confirmed the appointment of a prominent new chief executive and an industry-leading team of global directors. William Griffith has been appointed chief executive of the organisation and commenced his role earlier. An industry veteran, Griffith brings his vast experience in tourism back to Barbados, having been a member of the leadership team in a number of hotel properties in both Barbados and Bermuda.
