Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Alitalia have announced plans to cut their transatlantic services from autumn against a backdrop of rising fuel prices and excess capacity. The reductions are likely to push fares higher and leave passengers with fewer choices.
Kazakh suspected arrested on Alitalia flight
A man has been arrested on an Alitalia flight from Paris to Rome after brandishing a knife at cabin crew and demanding the plane divert to Tripoli, Libya. The suspected, believed to be from Kazakhstani, was handed to police as flight AZ329 landed at Fiumicino airport in Rome earlier.

Embraer has signed a deal with Italian flag-carrier Alitalia for the delivery 20 jets through a lease structure to be arranged by third parties. A total of 15 Embraer 175 and 5 Embraer 190 jets are included in the terms of the arrangement.
