e.Digital enters new eVU sales agreement with Alitalia

e.Digital, a leading innovator of dedicated portable entertainment systems and patented flash memory-related technology, announced today that it has entered into a new eVU sales and services agreement with Alitalia.

The agreement covers new eVU sales and on-going content integration and repair services. The Company also recently received a follow on order from Alitalia for more eVU portable in-flight entertainment devices. Alitalia provides eVU players exclusively to their Premium Class passengers.

In 2009, Alitalia and Air One merged, and as a result, launched the new Alitalia. Alitalia now operates more than 2,200 flights per week to 79 destinations around the world. Alitalia is a member of the SkyTeam international alliance which includes several leading airlines in Europe and worldwide – Delta, Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Czech Airlines, Aero Mexico, Aeroflot – with a network serving 898 destinations in 169 countries.

“We’re excited to continue our long term relationship with Alitalia by supplying them with our ‘best in class’ eVU portable entertainment system and services,” said Fred Falk, president and CEO of e.Digital. “Most if not all of the eVU players Alitalia originally purchased four years ago, are still in service as a result of the eVU being a ‘purpose built’ device, making it easy to repair and refurbish. We look forward to working with Alitalia for many more years to come”.
