Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines are set to work towards a collaboration for the benefit of their customers after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a potential agreement. The MoU reflects a dedication to exploring an enhanced working relationship, where the airlines plan to implement a broad collaboration including a codeshare, reciprocal loyalty programmes, cargo transport, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and ground handling.

Finnair has pulled back the curtain on its new short-haul cabin, as the airline continues to invest in its onboard experience. The carrier’s first refurbished aircraft, the Embraer 190 registration OH-LKH, returned to service this week, from Exeter Airport in the UK, where the work took place.

Finnair has redefined its climate commitments and set a new science-based target to reduce its carbon emissions intensity (CO2e/RTK) by 34.5 % by 2033 from a 2023 baseline. The target, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), equates to a reduction of approximately 13% in absolute CO2e emissions, using the parameters that have been established for the period.

Boeing and LATAM Airlines Group, the leading passenger and cargo airline group in South America, today announced the purchase of 10 787 Dreamliners with options for five more airplanes. Cirium, the aviation analytics firm, has revealed new data from its state-of-the-art methodology, EmeraldSky, the industry’s most precise independent standard for measuring aircraft emissions and fuel burn.  Data was analysed for flights flown between June-August 2024 and 2019, accounting for each specific aircraft type and their unique design specifications, combined with real-time operational information and flight conditions to ensure unparalleled accuracy.
