Emirates boosts flight schedule ahead of Eid Al Fitr
Emirates is gearing up for a busy travel period for Eid Al Fitr by deploying an additional 17 flights to destinations in the Middle East/GCC from 26 March to 6 April. This year, over 371,000 customers are expected to fly with the airline during the Eid Al Fitr break from around the region, with additional flights planned for Jeddah, Kuwait, Dammam and Amman. The expanded flight schedule offers customers travelling home or interested in exploring new destinations more opportunities to reunite, celebrate with their family and loved ones, or enjoy leisure getaways.
Malaysia Aviation Group Announces Order for up to 60 Boeing 737 MAX Airplanes
Boeing and Malaysia Aviation Group today announced an order for 18 737-8 and 12 737-10 single-aisle jets to renew Malaysia Airlines’ fleet with more fuel-efficient airplanes. The order, which booked in January 2025 and was posted as unidentified on Boeing’s orders and deliveries website, will enable Malaysia’s flag carrier to introduce new lie-flat seats and meet growing travel demand in Southeast Asia – one of the fastest-growing commercial aviation markets.
AirAsia Malaysia Launches New Direct KL-Darwin Route
AirAsia Malaysia is launching a new direct route from Kuala Lumpur to Darwin starting 27 June 2025, with four weekly flights connecting these cities and facilitating travel between Malaysia and Australia. The new service, which will operate with refurbished Emirates Boeing 777s, offers passengers enhanced Business Class and Premium Economy experiences and will serve approximately 200,000 passengers annually through 19 weekly flights.
Korean Air Unveils Comprehensive Lounge Renovations and Premium Economy Launch in Strategic Service
Korean Air is enhancing its service offering by upgrading its airport lounges and introducing Premium Economy cabins, in line with its new corporate identity and the upcoming integration with Asiana Airlines. At Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, the airline will expand and renovate lounges by building new “Prestige Class Garden Lounges” in both the east and west wings and enlarging the existing Prestige Class and Miler Club Lounges, with phased openings starting in August 2025. Renovations in the west wing’s First Class and Prestige Class Lounges are expected to be completed by April 2026, resulting in six lounges with 2.5 times more space and doubled seating capacity.
dnata Secures Major Inflight Catering Deals with HNA Group Airlines for Key Australian Routes
dnata has won three long-term contracts to provide inflight catering services to Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Air, and Beijing Capital Airlines (formerly part of HNA Group) at Melbourne International Airport and Sydney International Airport. The contracts will see dnata produce approximately 380,000 meals per year for flights operating between Melbourne and China, which serve about 200,000 passengers annually across 19 weekly services.

Emirates to roll out upgraded Boeing 777s on all three flights to Riyadh

TAP - New Chefs, new talent, new in-flight dining with Local Stars
In the celebration of its 80th anniversary, which had one of the highlights at TAP’s stand at BTL, in Lisbon, the airline announced the new edition of the Local Stars program. Six talents of Portuguese gastronomy take part in this project, three women and three men. Each Chef will create two complete menus and each of these menus will be served for two months departing from Lisbon, in Business class, on long-haul flights. The first proposal will be signed by Chef Ana Moura, who TAP transports from the Alentejo Coast to the world and will be on board next April.
TAP celebrates its anniversary FLYING PORTUGAL FOR 80 YEARS
TAP Air Portugal celebrated its 80th anniversary on Friday 14 March, with several initiatives to mark the festive date. The Portuguese national airline was founded on March 14, 1945, by Humberto Delgado. After several preparatory stages, the then called Transportes Aéreos Portugueses conducted its first regular commercial flight on September 19, 1946, between Lisbon and Madrid, in a DC-3 Dakota aircraft. The airline also celebrated dual wins at the 2024 World Travel Awards for World’s Leading Airline to Africa and World’s Leading Airline to South America.
