Emirates receives Tourism delegation from Jamaica at ATM 2025
At Arabian Travel Market 2025, Emirates today received a delegation from Jamaica’s Ministry of Tourism. The delegation met with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline & Group in the presence of Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. The Jamaican delegation was led by The Honourable Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica to discuss ways to support the island’s tourism industry.
ETIHAD AND CHINA EASTERN AIRLINES CELEBRATE START OF JOINT VENTURE
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and China Eastern Airlines have officially launched their landmark Joint Venture (JV) during a ceremony held at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai this week. The launch follows the successful arrival of China Eastern’s inaugural MU237 flight from Shanghai to Abu Dhabi on 28 April, which was celebrated with a welcome ceremony at Zayed International Airport. The service starts with four weekly frequencies and will increase to a daily frequency starting 12 September 2025, further boosting connectivity between the UAE and China.

Etihad Airways signs a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to strengthen the relationship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, at Arabian Travel Market 2025. The agreement aims to promote tourism to Thailand through Etihad’s extensive global network. Aligning with Etihad’s mission to deliver extraordinary travel experiences, the MoC will see both organisations advocating high-quality travel experiences in Thailand through collaborative activities and promotion.
SWISS posts CHF 3 million operating result for the first-quarter period
SWISS has reported a positive operating result for the first three months of 2025. Adjusted EBIT for the period amounted to CHF 3 million (Q1 2024: CHF 31 million). The decline from the prior-year period is primarily due to the fact that Easter, a traditionally busy time in air travel terms, fell in the second quarter this year. First-quarter earnings were also reduced by rising costs, but were simultaneously buoyed by strong cargo business and lower year-on-year fuel price levels. SWISS is now making extensive preparations for the summer peak travel season, with a consistent focus on schedule stability and customer satisfaction.
Emirates strengthens collaboration with Tourist Boards
Emirates has signed another seven Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) on the side-lines of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) with the tourism boards and ministries of Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Seychelles, Bahamas, Warsaw and Nigeria to bolster visitor arrivals and boost the appeal of each destination.

Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Sabah. The signing ceremony was also attended by other officials of each airline’s executive management and partnership teams.

Etihad Airways shrugs off tariff turmoil, sees opportunities
Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways is not seeing any effects from the turmoil caused by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, its CEO Antonoaldo Neves told Reuters on Monday, while adding it was too early to fully gauge the impact of the levies. Trump’s announcement of sweeping tariffs on dozens of U.S. trading partners this month - and then his pausing of most of them - created widespread market uncertainty and raised fears of a global economic downturn.
