Ryanair, the UK’s largest airline, today announced that it will add over 500 flights to and from its main base at London Stansted Airport for the Autumn Mid-Term Break, providing an additional 100,000 low-fare seats to/from London to family destinations in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, and France.

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), parent company of Malaysia Airlines, has selected the A330neo for the carrier’s widebody fleet renewal programme. The initial agreements cover the acquisition of 20 A330-900 aircraft, with 10 to be purchased from Airbus and 10 to be leased from Dublin-based Avolon.
IATA 2011: New EU emissions charges are “illegal”
The International Air Transport Association has stepped up its war of words with the European Union by describing plans to charge the industry for emissions as “illegal”. The new legislation, which comes into effect on January 1st 2012, will see airlines forced to buy permits for carbon emissions above a certain level.
