One of Europe’s largest airline groups, Air France KLM, is to commence operations from Northern Ireland. George Best Belfast City Airport is the only airport in the UK or Ireland included in expansion plans announced today by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines who will commence a daily service to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport from May 2015.

Air France and Air Austral have signed a codeshare agreement allowing customers to travel between Europe and the Indian Ocean via Paris-Charles de Gaulle and St. Denis de la Reunion. This partnership is in addition to the previous Interline agreement signed in April 2014 between Air France and Air Austral, and increases the choice of destinations between the Indian Ocean and Europe.

Air France has announced a significant increase in services to Central and South America, with the launch of a new thrice-weekly service to Brasilia, its third destination in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This summer Air France will also increase flight capacity to Panama from three to four weekly flights, with five weekly flights then expected from October 27th.

Air France KLM managing director Alexandre de Juniac and Andre Viljoen, chief executive of Air Mauritius have signed an agreement that reinforces and broadens the scope of the existing collaboration between the airlines. The signing ceremony was chaired by Air Mauritius chairman, Dass Thomas, and provides for the continuity of the joint Air Mauritius-Air France code share operations between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport in Mauritius.

Starting 25 November 2013, Air France will operate a scheduled service to Panama City, with three weekly flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, thus expanding its network to Central and South America and the Caribbean. Flights will be operated by Boeing 777-200 equipped with 309 seats, including 35 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 250 in Economy.
