KLM flies into George Best airport in Belfast
One of Europe’s largest airline groups, Air France KLM, is to commence operations from Northern Ireland. George Best Belfast City Airport is the only airport in the UK or Ireland included in expansion plans announced today by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines who will commence a daily service to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport from May 2015.
Air France signs Indian Ocean codeshare deal with Air Austral
Air France and Air Austral have signed a codeshare agreement allowing customers to travel between Europe and the Indian Ocean via Paris-Charles de Gaulle and St. Denis de la Reunion. This partnership is in addition to the previous Interline agreement signed in April 2014 between Air France and Air Austral, and increases the choice of destinations between the Indian Ocean and Europe.
Airbnb launches long-term deal with KLM
After the success of the KLM aircraft apartment competition, KLM and Airbnb have announced that they will be entering into a long-term partnership. To mark the start of the collaboration, KLM and Airbnb created a competition to win a stay in a KLM aircraft apartment at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, with three lucky winners staying in the KLM plane apartment.
Air France bows to union pressure over Transavia expansion
Attempts to return Air France to sustained profitability suffered a significant setback today, as the flag-carrier bowed to union pressure over plans to develop its Transavia subsidiary outside of France. Pilots at Air France have been out on strike for ten days over perceived threat to their positions after the airline revealed plans to expand the low-cost subsidiary.
Air France narrows losses over first half
Air France KLM has released its financial results for the six months to June, net losses of €614 million. However, this was an improvement of €185 million on the same period of last year.
Air France launches new cabin on Boeing 777 fleet
Air France inaugurated its first Boeing 777 equipped with new cabins on flight AF008, which took off last week from Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 19:10 for New York. For the first time, customers were able to enjoy the new Economy cabin, offering optimum travel comfort, and Premium Economy, with 40 per cent additional space.
Air France strengthens Latin American connection
Air France has announced a significant increase in services to Central and South America, with the launch of a new thrice-weekly service to Brasilia, its third destination in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This summer Air France will also increase flight capacity to Panama from three to four weekly flights, with five weekly flights then expected from October 27th.
Air France KLM renews partnership with Air Mauritius
Air France KLM managing director Alexandre de Juniac and Andre Viljoen, chief executive of Air Mauritius have signed an agreement that reinforces and broadens the scope of the existing collaboration between the airlines. The signing ceremony was chaired by Air Mauritius chairman, Dass Thomas, and provides for the continuity of the joint Air Mauritius-Air France code share operations between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport in Mauritius.

Air France KLM has appointed Warner Rootliep as general manager for the UK and Ireland market. He succeeds Henri Hourcade who joins the French market as vice president of sales.
Air France launches Panama service
Starting 25 November 2013, Air France will operate a scheduled service to Panama City, with three weekly flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, thus expanding its network to Central and South America and the Caribbean. Flights will be operated by Boeing 777-200 equipped with 309 seats, including 35 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 250 in Economy.
Air France KLM completes Airbus deal
Air France KLM has announced it has finalised a deal with European manufacturer Airbus for 25 new A350 jets with a further 25 on option. The A350-900 aircrafts are equipped with Rolls-Royce XWB engines, which will significantly contribute to the performance of the Airbus A350.
Amadeus signs e-Commerce agreement with France-KLM
Amadeus has announced it has signed a long-term e-Commerce agreement with Air France-KLM, the leading French-Dutch airline group. Amadeus’ agreement with Air France-KLM, which is effective worldwide, will see the airline group use Amadeus’ shopping technology for a further five years across both its domestic and international websites.
