ABTA concludes its “Love Summer, Love Travel” University Tour
ABTA has concluded its pilot tour of University campuses this June as part of its activity to boost brand awareness amongst 18-34 year olds. The events at Portsmouth, Nottingham and Warwick Universities attracted more than 10,000 students with thousands participating in the activities at the ABTA stand, speaking to ABTA staff and Members.

ABTA reveals economic value of outbound travel to Northern Ireland
ABTA -The Travel Association today revealed the considerable economic contribution made to the Northern Ireland (NI) economy by outbound travel. Speaking at the Big Travel Trade Event, ABTA highlighted the findings of a report it commissioned from the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) that shows outbound travel directly contributes over £420M to the NI economy, representing 1.5% of NI GDP.
ABTA: Two million Brits head overseas this Jubilee weekend
ABTA has estimated two million British holidaymakers are set to take advantage of the two bank holidays over the period of June 2nd-5th and head off overseas. Many savvy travellers realised that by booking three days leave they could have a nine day break from work which has given a substantial boost to business and the bank holidays also coincide with school half term.
