World Travel Market 2012 to welcome Papua New Guinea for first time
Papua New Guinea has confirmed it will be exhibiting at World Travel Market for the first time this November.
Demand from tour operators prompted by enquiries from travellers encouraged The Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority to open a London office earlier this year and consequentially it was deemed important for the London team to exhibit at World Travel Market.
Leith Isaac, director of marketing for the Authority is travelling to the UK to be at the event.
He commented from Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea: “We have recently had a steady increase in Tourism from both the UK and Europe and feel strongly that this market which has already shown great enthusiasm for Papua will have an opportunity to meet and discus our wonderful destination with members of our team at World Travel Market.”
Since the London office opened last January an increasing number of tour operators in the UK are now featuring this diverse destination.
Legendary as a coveted goal for the ornithologist being home to the Bird’s of Paradise, it is a ‘paradise found’ for the birdwatcher.
The renowned Kokoda and Black Cat trails are famous among trekkers but PNG also offers plenty of other exciting tracks requiring different levels of fitness.
Divers have the opportunity to explore untouched coral reefs as well as WW11 wrecks, all in warm 28 degree waters; kayaking, kite surfing and fishing are all readily available adding to the wealth of experiences on offer to the traveller.
