World Travel Awards arrives at The Oberoi, New Delhi, for Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony

World Travel Awards is in Indian capital New Delhi as final preparations begin ahead of the Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2014.

The event will take place this evening at The Oberoi, New Delhi, with hundreds of industry leaders from across the region expected to be in attendance.

The red-carpet ceremony, hosted by Indian superstar Seema Rhamani, will offer the finest in local entertainment, a gourmet banquet and, of course, the presentation of the prestigious trophies.

The Oberoi is the perfect host for the event, reflecting the capital city’s spirit in a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary sophistication.

Recognised as a pioneer and an icon amongst luxury hotels in India, The Oberoi’s exquisite interiors, impeccable service and fine cuisine combine to make it among the most graceful and elegant downtown hotels in the capital.

Ahead of the event World Travel Awards president Graham Cooke said: “Preparations for the next stop on our annual Grand Tour are well underway and we are looking forward to our time in New Delhi, India. This is an exquisite venue for what promises to be a very competitive event.”

World Travel Awards saw its annual Grand Tour launch successfully in Dubai in May, with Gala Ceremonies following in Greek capital Athens and Quito, high in the mountains of Ecuador.

A final regional Gala Ceremony will take place on the sunshine island of Anguilla, before Morocco welcomes World Travel Awards to Marrakech for the Grand Final 2014.

Hosting the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony will form part of a year of celebrations for The Oberoi, New Delhi, which will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee in early 2015.

In its successful 50 year journey, the iconic hotel has played host to the world’s elite - from presidents to premiers, chief executives to celebrities and continues to do so.
