Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, has today announced the appointment of Precise Systems Ltd, a division of Precision Air, as its Galileo distributor in Tanzania.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Precise Systems Ltd. will have exclusive rights to distribute Galileo technology and services in Tanzania, providing travel agencies in the region with access to extensive, global travel content and leading-edge technology and customer support.

The new NDC (National Distribution Company) will be headed up by Eliasaph Mathew, supported by the team from the former distributor, GTCL, who are remaining in place to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted customer service.

Travelport, meanwhile, announced only last month the acquisition of its Galileo distribution business in Southern Africa and news of a new strategic Travelport hub for Africa, located in Johannesburg.  The recent investment, forming part of Travelport’s ongoing strategy to grow its network and operations across the African continent, in turn follows the entry into ten new African countries over the last 12 months.
