Timbrell takes up leadership of Kempinski Hotel Amman

Mark Timbrell has been appointed as general manager of Kempinski Hotel Amman, located in the bustling area of Shmeisani, in the Jordanian capital.

Timbrell joins Kempinski Hotel Amman from his most recent role as general manager with Oryx Rotana Doha and returns to Jordan after 11 years, during which he held positions as general manager for Rotana in Beirut, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

As a seasoned hospitality professional with over 35 years of experience, 23 of which have been spent in the Levant and GCC areas, Timbrell is not only a well-rounded general manager, but possesses extensive sales and marketing expertise.

At the beginning of 2019, the brand-new convention centre offering a grand ballroom of 1,000 sqm, an exhibition hall of 850 sqm and an open-air roof terrace, along with three panoramic breakout rooms, will be launched.

Consisting of 278 rooms and suites, the hotel already has an established foothold in Amman, being centrally located and offering excellent conference and meeting facilities.

As well as this, the hotel has a variety of popular venues, which include restaurants and an entertainment centre, as well as being the preferred choice for upscale outside catering events for up to 2,000 guests.

Upon arrival, Timbrell commented: “I am delighted to be back in Jordan and privileged to lead the Kempinski Hotel Amman team of professionals for the opening of our fabulous state-of-the-art Convention Centre early next year.

“The magnificent halls of the Convention Centre will define the hotel going forward and they will be the venues for large international and regional conferences, exhibitions, product launches, concerts and, of course, weddings. Without doubt, the leading event venue in the capital.”
