Thomson launches interactive weather map

Thomson.co.uk has launched a new interactive graphic which quickly and easily tells users where’s hot and when by mapping out most major European cities by their climate.

The map allows users to define which month they would like to travel in, along with a sliding temperature and sunlight filter. The map then displays places within these criteria, along with other details like hours of sunlight, rainfall and humidity levels, when the user holds the mouse over each city.

The climate data used to build this covers 70 cities and 36 countries in Europe. Sources for it were taken from BBC Weather and the MET office (the UK’s national weather service).

A Thomson spokesperson commented:” It’s the million-dollar question when it comes to booking a holiday – where should I go at this time of year? To help find the answer, we’ve decided to build come up an interactive tool that makes is quick and easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.”
