THE PENINSULA WARMLY WELCOMES FESTIVE-SEASON GUESTS
A splendid line-up of festive traditions, family activities, delicious meals, and exquisite gifts await members of the extended “Peninsula family” at the iconic brand’s worldwide hotels.
For generations, the properties of The Peninsula Hotels have served as cherished “holiday homes” to luxury travellers. All over the world, the peerlessly elegant hotels mark this special time of year by transforming into magical winter wonderlands, and joyfully welcoming guests to celebrate the season with delightful performances, activities, feasts, and opportunities to create lasting memories with loved ones.
This year, the festive experiences offered at each Peninsula hotel will centre around traditional holiday pleasures: lighting the beautifully decorated Lobby Christmas tree; gathering around it to enjoy enchanting festive music; savouring special meals and treats; and sharing gifts with family, friends, and members of the greater community.
Heart-warming Performances
Holiday music performances are a highlight of the festive-season experience at The Peninsula Hotels. This year’s offerings include a cappella Christmas performances from Victorian carollers at The Peninsula New York; uplifting concerts from The Children’s Christmas Choir and the Tokyo Sinfonia Orchestra The Peninsula Tokyo; and a dazzling, railway-travel-themed pageant, “An Enchanting Journey Continues – Aboard the Peninsula Express,” at The Peninsula Hong Kong.
Joyful Family Activities
Festive-season guests at The Peninsula Hotels will find a wealth of delightful holiday pursuits to enjoy with their loved ones. Gingerbread house-decorating and cookie-baking, Christmas storytelling, and visits with Santa and Pen Bear are treasured traditions at many Peninsula properties around the world. Other special activities offered this year include writing Christmas postcards to loved ones and mailing them in special red post boxes at The Peninsula Tokyo; savouring holiday-themed Children’s Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula Paris in partnership with French children’s fashion brand Tartine et Chocolat; and rooftop ice-skating at The Peninsula Chicago’s Sky Rink – a fairyland of snowflake lights and winter greenery surrounded by the dazzling skyscrapers of the Windy City.

Marvellous Holiday Gifts
Opportunities to find exquisite Christmas-season gifts abound at The Peninsula Hotels. Along with the luxury merchandise and artisanal wares offered at The Peninsula Arcades and The Peninsula Boutiques worldwide, several Peninsula properties have created special holiday shopping programmes for guests. This year, these include the beloved Nakadori Café Christmas Market at The Peninsula Tokyo, where traditional toys, crafts, and treats are displayed amid a winter-village ambience. At The Peninsula New York, a new Holiday Fun with FAO Schwarz package lets lucky families stay in a suite filled with specialty toys and enjoy a private Christmas private toy-shopping event at the world-famous toy shop.
Delectable Feasts and Treats
The Peninsula Hotels’ acclaimed culinary teams take special pleasure in creating superb festive menus and desserts for holiday guests – and this year is no exception. At each hotel, magnificent Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve dinners will be held, as well as bountiful Christmas Day and New Year’s Day brunches, and Festive Afternoon Teas featuring traditional holiday dishes and decadent confections. For many properties, the Christmas season also allows resident pastry chefs to reach special heights – as with this year’s sublimely delicate “Snowdrop” Bûche de Noël, crafted by The Peninsula Paris’s award-winning pastry chef Anne Coruble.
Sharing the Season of Giving
It has been a longstanding tradition at The Peninsula Hotels to support the less-fortunate members of its surrounding communities, particularly during the festive season. This year, proceeds from holiday meals and activities at Peninsula properties around the world will be donated to numerous charitable organisations that further the education and empowerment of disadvantaged children – including The New York Center for Children, the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Make-A-Wish Japan, and many others.
