Spain to host Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum

Bench Events and Questex Hospitality Group have announced that the Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum 2015 will be hosted in Spain in collaboration with Study Let O4.

The event will take place at the NH Collection Eurobuilding in Madrid from November 9th-11th.

Jonathan Worsley, chairman of Bench Events, has highlighted “the increasing interest of investors in the opportunities offered by hotel and tourism industry in the Mediterranean region deserves an event of this kind”.

“The election of Spain as host is due to its strategic market position within this sector.

“According to CBRE, international Real Estate consultant, hotel investment in Spain has grown 63 per cent in 2014 to € 1.1 billion, with further growth prospects,” Worsley said.

The conference will be opened by Taleb Rifai, general secretary of the United Nations World Tourism Organiation.

According to UNWTO, tourist arrivals in the Mediterranean destinations will reach over 500 million in 2030.

However despite the regions popularity, destinations around the Mediterranean face several challenges – economic, political and environmental.

The MR&H programme will feature 70 industry leaders, expert speakers and moderators who will be discussing the outlook for both the emerging and mature destinations in the region, the challenges these destinations face in the long-term, how they can adapt to changing market conditions and what opportunities they offer.
