Smith to lead Omni Frisco Hotel

Omni Hotels & Resorts has appointed Jeff Smith as general manager for the Omni Frisco Hotel.

In this role, he will lead the opening of the hotel and oversee all departments including operations, sales and marketing, rooms, risk management and food and beverage.

As a veteran of the hospitality industry, Smith has been with Omni Hotels & Resorts for nearly 15 years serving in various corporate and property leadership positions.

He joins Omni Frisco from his most recent position as general manager at Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West.

During his time at Omni, Smith has also served as vice president of special projects, vice president of operations and loyalty services, vice president of operations and corporate director of rooms, all at the brand level.

Additionally, he spent a year as the general manager at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

The luxurious 16-story Omni Frisco Hotel, set to open in early summer 2017, will serve as a cornerstone of The Star development, which will be anchored by the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and the Ford Centre.

The hotel will feature 300-finely appointed guest rooms and suites.

It will feature 24,000 square feet of meeting space, inclusive of a 13,000 square foot ballroom.

The Omni and Dallas Cowboys partnership also offers planners and attendees access to additional meeting and exhibit space in the Ford Centre, as well as events on the plaza.

Smith received his master of business administration from Rockhurst College and undergraduate degree in business administration/hotel management at Michigan State University.
