SIX SENSES ZIGHY BAY AWARDED HIGHEST THREE-STAR RATING IN THE 2026 FOOD MADE GOOD STANDARD

Six Senses Zighy Bay is proud to announce that it has been awarded the highest possible Three-Star Rating in the 2026 Food Made Good Standard, achieving an outstanding overall score of 89%.

Developed by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA), the Food Made Good Standard is recognised as the world’s leading sustainability certification specifically designed for the hospitality sector. The rigorous assessment evaluates businesses across three core pillars including Sourcing, Society and Environment, taking a holistic, evidence-based approach to sustainability that extends far beyond food waste and carbon reduction to encompass responsible sourcing, employee wellbeing, community impact and environmental stewardship.

With an overall score of 89%, Six Senses Zighy Bay achieved exceptional results across all categories, including 86% for Sourcing, 90% for Society and 92% for Environment, with particularly strong recognition for its support of local farmers and fishers, community engagement initiatives and environmental management programmes.

The assessment praised the resort’s commitment to celebrating Oman’s culinary heritage through local sourcing, including produce and eggs grown at its own farm in Dibba, alongside partnerships with small-scale local suppliers. It also recognised the resort’s extensive community engagement programmes, staff wellbeing initiatives and robust environmental practices, including food waste composting, on-site glass recycling and comprehensive sustainability training for hosts.

Nestled between the dramatic Hajar Mountains and the pristine waters of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, Six Senses Zighy Bay has long championed a philosophy of responsible hospitality. Responsible hospitality is woven throughout the guest experience, from ingredients harvested at the resort’s Organic Dibba Farm and garden to immersive experiences at the Earth Lab, marine conservation initiatives and meaningful partnerships with local communities.

Among the areas highlighted by the Sustainable Restaurant Association were the resort’s commitment to local procurement, transparent supply chain relationships, plant-forward culinary initiatives, community development efforts and comprehensive environmental programmes. The report also recognised the resort’s unique approach to guest engagement, which includes educational sustainability experiences, farm visits and interactive workshops that encourage guests to connect more deeply with the natural world.

Valid until May 2028, the certification reflects Six Senses Zighy Bay’s long-standing commitment to responsible sourcing, environmental stewardship and creating a positive impact within the local community.
