Singapore Airlines celebrates 25 years at Manchester Airport

Singapore Airlines today celebrates its 25th year of service at Manchester Airport, making it the longest serving long haul airline continuing to operate at Manchester Airport with its first flight taking place on 1st April 1986. To mark the occasion Singapore Airlines is offering a special 25th anniversary rate for travel to Singapore on its Business class, from £2690, and First class, From £4240.

Over the last 25 years, Singapore Airlines has seen its Manchester-Singapore service increase in frequency, as well as incorporate a stopover at Munich, reflecting the local popularity of the route by allowing customers in Manchester and the North West the opportunity to experience the airline’s latest product offerings.

Joey Seow, General Manager Singapore Airlines UK and Ireland, commented on the anniversary: “Since 1986, Singapore Airlines has operated a service from Manchester to Singapore, which we saw increase to a daily service in September 2010. We are committed to providing our customers in Manchester and the wider North West region with the best in-flight product and service and look forward to offering Northern England further improvements to the service over the next 25 years.”
