Shadow Play by Peppers unveils room design ahead of debut

AccorHotels has unveiled a sneak peek of the guest rooms at Melbourne’s newest luxury hotel - Shadow Play by Peppers - in the city’s vibrant Southbank arts and entertainment district.

Offering a first glimpse of what guests can expect when the new hotel opens in April, the prototype room features a bold design.

Designed by Melbourne architects Elenberg Fraser and with interior design by Melbourne design firm Hecker Guthrie, the hotel’s one- and two-bedroom apartments feature attractive materials and finishes.

All apartments are self-contained, highly functional and boast lots of natural light and city or bayside views from floor to ceiling windows and balconies.

AccorHotels chief operating officer, Pacific, Simon McGrath, said the prototype Shadow Play by Peppers room demonstrates the Peppers brand’s commitment to quality.

“We’re excited visitors to Southbank will soon be able to experience Peppers’ unique style and acclaimed hospitality,” said McGrath.

“Southbank is in need of a sophisticated luxury hotel product to cater to an increasingly selective global market that is looking for quality, location and facilities of a world-class calibre.

“This opening also represents a strong indication of our continued focus on the introduction of the luxury Peppers brand to key CBD markets.”

Construction and fit out of Shadow Play by Peppers’ remaining guest rooms, restaurant and bar, leisure facilities and common areas is on track to be completed by April.

The landmark hotel will also feature an array of unique guest spaces, including a heated pool, gymnasium, sauna and steam room, and an enclosed garden space on the 46th floor, complete with a freestanding fireplace, two private dining rooms, a lavish guest lounge and library with an adjoining patio, and commanding bayside views.
