SATA outdoor advertising campaign kicks off new season fligths

SATA International has kicked off its new season of direct flights to the Azores, resuming on the 7th April, by investing in a large scale outdoor advertising campaign in London’s elite Underground stations.

The highly visual campaign is SATA’s first major outdoor promotion and highlights the Azores’ unparalleled natural beauty, while promoting a special season launch price offering return flights to Ponta Delgada from £308 including taxes and charges, for travel between 7th April and 20th October. The outdoor campaign is featured in 25 stations, including Charing Cross, Embankment and Liverpool Street.

SATA’s advertising investment highlights the airline’s confidence in attracting British travellers to the archipelago, supported by Azores’ Tourism’s simultaneous ‘Feel Alive’ campaign.

Commenting on the campaign, Mark Mullord, UK representative for SATA International said, “We are confident that the Azores, with its many charms, will appeal to British travellers who have in recent years shifted away from traditional fly and flop holidays and are instead seeking experience led stays in more unusual destinations. Our new promotion brings the Azores to life as the destination of choice for intrepid travellers looking to discover the wonder and beauty of this unique European destination.”

Located in the middle of the Atlantic, the nine islands of the Azores are Europe’s most westerly point and are a paradise for nature lovers.  The Azores is one of Europe’s best dolphin and whale watching locations.  Adventure seekers and explorers can experience outdoor pursuits including canyoning, paragliding, canoeing, snorkelling, diving, bird watching, golfing, horse riding and hiking, complimented by cultural activities resulting from century old Azorean traditions.  SATA International has weekly direct flights from Gatwick to the Azores from 7 April 2012, with prices starting from £308pp return (including taxes and charges).

Weekday flights are also available, flying from London Heathrow via Lisbon. SATA International also offers the most comprehensive inter-island connections throughout the Azores archipelago, with prices starting from £47pp one-way (including taxes and charges) for inter-island flights.
