In addition to fresh shrimp and seafood vendors, this year’s festival is set to include live music on two stages, arts and crafts as well as fine arts from more than 200 artists, and a Children’s Activity Village. A family-friendly sand sculpture contest with four age categories will be held on Saturday, October 15. Also on October 15, a 10K/5K Run-Walk will take place in nearby Orange Beach, Ala. at the Orange Beach Sportsplex, 4385 William Silvers Parkway.
The National Shrimp Festival will kick off on Thursday, October 13 through Sunday, October 16 on the beach at the end of Hwy. 59, directly in front of The Hangout restaurant, located at 101 East Beach Blvd. in Gulf Shores, Ala. A proud “Friend of the Festival” Sponsor for the 40th Annual National Shrimp Festival, ResortQuest offers Gulf-front accommodations near the festival venue at luxury condominium resorts including San Carlos, Seawind and The Lighthouse.
“The National Shrimp Festival has become a tradition here, attracting more than 300,000 guests to the Alabama Gulf Coast last year alone,” said Ryan Christopher, senior operations manager, ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals. “Each year that ResortQuest sponsors this festival gives us the opportunity to reconnect with our repeat guests and to welcome new guests who may be experiencing Alabama’s wonderful beaches for the first time.”

The magnificent Seawind resort tower rises 20 floors above the sand, while its charming sister building houses six floors of expansive suites. All of the luxuriously appointed condominiums at Seawind overlook the Gulf of Mexico. Located at 401 East Beach Blvd. in Gulf Shores, Seawind also offers a heated zero-entry indoor/outdoor pool, a sauna and a kiddie pool with fountain.
At The Lighthouse, every condominium has a Gulf-front balcony. Resort amenities here include a zero-entry pool with fountains and gushers for the kids, another single-lap outdoor pool, and a heated indoor pool with a Gulf view. Sitting directly on the white sand of the Gulf of Mexico, The Lighthouse is located at 455 East Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores.
