Quito will strengthen gastronomic tourism at the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival 2024

Quito Turismo will participate at the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival 2024, an event organised by the prestigious international magazine of the same name.

The event, which will be held in London on 20 and 21 July, is a space to discover the diversity of destinations through gastronomy, with the aim of inspiring potential tourists, who seek to experiment on their trips with the flavours offered by each destination.
In that regard, Ecuador’s capital city promotes its destination with gastronomy as a key part of its offer, which extends its charms to attract tourists with attractive and emblematic places, culture, rural experiences and hospitality.

Quito will be an Ecuador co-exhibitor on stand B8, where attendees will be able to taste classic delicacies from the city, such as empanadas de morocho, pristiños, canelazo and espumilla, prepared by Omar Ortiz and Blanca Manobanda, representatives of the Santa Clara and San Francisco markets, who won the ‘The taste of Quito to London’ competition ahead of representatives from the other markets of the Metropolitan District.

Londoners will also attend a masterclass on Quito cuisine with Ecuadorian chef David Reyes, at this event that will be open to the public.

The United Kingdom was the eleventh largest source market for tourists to Quito in 2023 and during the first quarter of 2024, making that country one of the strategic markets for the promotion of Quito as a destination.
