Qantas: Volcanic eruption in Chile latest 15:30 AEST 17 June 2011

Volcanic ash from the eruption of Mt Puyehue Cordon Caulle volcano in Chile continues to cause flight disruptions to the Qantas network.

At Qantas safety is our first priority and a number of flights have been cancelled or rerouted to avoid the volcanic ash cloud.

Friday 17 June:

Flights to and from New Zealand will resume operations with the exception of the following cancelled flights:-
QF50 Auckland to Sydney
QF124 Auckland to Brisbane
QF118 Wellington to Sydney
There are delays being experienced with services to and from New Zealand.
All domestic services are operating as scheduled.
QF63 Sydney to Johannesburg will operate via Perth for a re-fuelling stop. QF64 Johannesburg to Sydney will operate as scheduled.
QF17 Sydney to Buenos Aires and QF18 Buenos Aires to Sydney delayed services from 15 June are now cancelled.

Coming Days:
All Australian domestic services are operating as scheduled
All New Zealand services are operating as scheduled
Johannesburg services are operating as scheduled
Buenos Aires services (QF17/18) scheduled for Saturday 18 June have been delayed for 24 hours
