Oceania to lull clients to sleep with herb-infused bedding

If the gentle movement of the waves doesn’t lull Oceania Cruises’ guests to sleep, then new, specially created mattresses and pillows infused with the sleep-inducing herb, chamomile, will do.

Oceania Cruises are promoting the best sleep on the sea with new chamomile-infused `Prestige Tranquillity’ beds that will be introduced onto the company’s mid-sized, upper premium ship `Nautica’ in autumn 2010. Next in line to be equipped with the premier bedding will be sister ships `Regatta’ and `Insignia’, and finally the company’s new 1252 guest, luxury cruise ship, Marina, when she debuts in early 2011.

Each mattress in every grade of accommodation will be constructed with 400 encapsulated springs, in seven zones, topped by two inches of memory foam, and further covered with a `pillow-top’ cushion, filled with gel and wrapped in chamomile-infused fibre.

“Cuisine, service and comfort are the three pillars of the Oceania Cruises’ brand,” stated Bob Binder, the line’s president. “The new Prestige Tranquillity Beds will offer the most comfortable, luxurious sleep experience at sea.”

Marina’s new Prestige Tranquillity Beds will be dressed with 1,000-thread-count, Egyptian cotton linens and a plush, down comforter.

As an added enhancement, guests in higher-category accommodations can complement their mattress with one of four Prestige Tranquillity Pillows, wrapped in chamomile-infused fibre and filled with either goose-down, or memory foam and gel, memory foam, or hypo-allergenic fibre fill.
