Guests staying at La Residencia in Mallorca can enjoy the new Almond Delight Facial, a sensory experience that relaxes the neck, face and scalp. The signature treatment begins with a soothing massage using a softening blend of warm sweet almond and lavender oil. Next, a nutrient-enriched mask infuses the skin with vitamins A and E before a hydrating lip balm completes the facial.

Two new signature spa products were specially developed for the Almond Delight Facial. The anti-ageing Organic Vitamin Mask with Jasmine is rich in restorative botanical antioxidants, while the hydrating Vanilla Delight Lip Balm contains sweet almond and orange. The Almond Delight Facial lasts 50 minutes and is priced at £95.

The Wellness Centre at Villa Sant’Andrea in Taormina Mare, Sicily has introduced two new open-air massages, performed by moonlight to harness the revitalising energies of the lunar cycle. The Full Moon Massage is a relaxing body treatment followed by a refreshing dip in the sea, while the New Moon Signature Massage ends with a purifying drink of herbal tea with mint and lemon zest, enjoyed under the stars.

The Full Moon Massage and New Moon Signature Massage last 50 minutes or 80 minutes each and are both priced from £160. Both treatments are also available as couples’ massages. The next full moons fall on 19th September and 19th October, while the next new moons fall on 5th September and 5th October.

The luxurious Librisa Spa at Mount Nelson Hotel in South Africa has developed the Librisa Luxury Signature Massage, using melted candle wax that contains soybean oil. Rich in skin-boosting natural vitamins and lecithin, this gentle oil is believed to help ease psoriasis and eczema and leaves skin feeling moisturised with no waxy residue.
