New leadership at tech giant Travelport

Travelport has announced two appointments to its board of directors with immediate effect.

Gavin Baiera and Richard Buccarelli will both serve as directors of the leading provider of critical transaction processing for the global travel industry.

Commenting on the two appointments, Jeff Clarke, executive chairman of Travelport said:  “I am delighted to welcome Gavin and Richard to the Travelport Board of Directors.

“Both executives have extensive international management experience and strong track records in their respective fields.”

Gavin Baiera is currently a managing director at Angelo, Gordon & Co, a privately-held registered investment advisor currently managing approximately $23 billion.

Prior to joining Angelo Gordon, Baiera was co-head of the Strategic Finance Group at Morgan Stanley which was responsible for all origination, underwriting and distribution of restructuring transactions. 

Prior to that, he was a vice president at General Electric Capital Corporation concentrating on underwriting and investing in restructuring transactions.

Baiera began his career at General Electric Capital Corporation in their financial management program.

Richard Buccarelli is currently a managing director at JPMorgan Chase where he heads up the general services function which includes sourcing, procurement operations, supplier performance management and global information management.

Prior to that, Buccarelli held several senior roles in both operations and mergers and acquisitions at Precision Partners Holding Company, an integrated provider of precision manufacturing and engineering services with sales of approximately $430 million.

Before that, he held senior executive posts at a number of high profile US and international corporations and private practice law firms.
