National Express Helps little Havens Children’s Hospice
Jenni White of Stansted Express is celebrating after securing funding of close to £600 from the National Express Employee Charity Panel to be donated to the Little Havens Children’s Hospice.
Thundersley based Little Havens Children’s Hospice is part of Havens Hospices which also runs Fair Havens Hospice in Westcliff. Angela Clements, Community Fundraiser said, “I am so thankful to National Express for donating close to £600 to Little Havens which will cost £2.4 million to run this year. As the care we provide is free of charge, kind donations such as the one from National Express helps us to continue caring.”
Little Havens Children’s Hospice provides respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care to children across Essex living with a life-limiting illness and their families. They aim to make their journey-and that of their family- as comfortable as possible, creating special memories along the way. The love and care provided by the hospice is free of charge.
Jenni White has been a long-time supporter of Little Havens Children’s Hospice and often organised fund-raising events for the charity. In the past she has asked her Stansted Express colleagues to donate unwanted Christmas gifts, which are then used as raffle prizes. The raffles have caused much merriment amongst the local staff as they wonder if they are going to win back the gift which they donated. Jenny is delighted that her fundraising work has been recognised by the National Express Charity Panel.

Jenni White began working on the railway 20 years ago as a signalwoman at St Margarets, in recent years she has been a familiar figure at Stansted Airport. Jenni looks forward to taking up a new position at Harlow Town station in the coming weeks.
The National Express Charity Panel helps support employees in their charitable work. The panel is made up of employees from around the National Express business, who meet quarterly to decide which good causes they will support. The panel has given awards worth £20,064 to charity throughout 2011.
