Maaß appointed chief operating officer at Messe Berlin

Messe Berlin has announced the appointment of Ingrid Maaß as its new chief operating officer following its latest regular supervisory board meeting.

The move follows a decision by the supervisory board, in December 2012, to appoint Christian Göke to succeed the current chief executive, Raimund Hosch, who is due to retire at the end of June.

Maaß studied business management, and, following posts with KPMG Consulting, IKB Private Equity and The Industrial Investment Council, was a board member of CNC Communications & Network Consulting AG in Munich.

Hans-Joachim Kamp, chairman Messe Berlin supervisory board, welcomed the decision: “Ingrid Maaß possesses outstanding financial and business management expertise.

“I am delighted that we have secured the services of someone who, together with Christian Göke, will continue to build on the successes of Messe Berlin.”

Maaß will take up her post on August 1st.

Maaß added: “I look forward to the many different challenges and operational responsibilities that managing this leading international company for trade fairs and congresses will bring along.

“Together with Christian Göke I will continue to expand this venue for trade fairs and congresses in its role as one of the economic mainstays of the metropolitan region of Berlin/Brandenburg.”
