Travel specialist PR and representation agency Lotus has been appointed by the Latin American Travel Association.
LATA is a trade organisation that represents airlines, hotels, wholesalers, tour operators and other Latin America tourism businesses to promote sustainable travel to and around Latin America and improve the awareness of Latin America as a tourism destination.
Lotus has been briefed to position LATA as the go-to authority on travel to and around Latin America and to position LATA as the voice of the Latin American travel industry.
The contract will start from January 2016.
PR activity will include providing support for flagship events such as the LATA Press Awards and Experience Latin America, in order to elevate the LATA brand and raise the organisation’s profile, as well as communicating key tourism news and generating positive coverage for the members and the region.
With increasing flight options to and around Latin America as well as a growing tourism infrastructure and a number of high profile events such as the 2016 summer Olympics taking place in Rio de Janeiro, travel to Latin America is buoyant.
Managing director of Lotus, Jules Ugo, said: “Lotus is delighted to have been appointed by LATA.
“We join the LATA team at an exciting time with travel to Latin America on the increase and 2016 a key year for the region with the Rio Olympics.
“We’re looking forward to a successful collaboration working to position LATA as the authority on travel to and in Latin America.”
