Jet2.com expands in Scotland

Jet2.com has announced the launch of three new destinations as it adds a fourth dedicated Jet2.com aircraft which will be permanently based at Glasgow airport creating over 50 new jobs.

The low cost carrier, which offers flights from eight UK airports, carrier has added flights to Murcia which take off every Monday and Friday from 24th May 2013, with fares starting from £41 per person.

Flights to the Eastern Med’s Croatian resort, Pula are also now on sale with weekly flights starting from 18th June 2013 from £49 per person.

In addition, weekly flights to Menorca will start to operate from 25th May 2013 with fares from £41 per person. This gives Scottish holidaymakers a choice of 19
destinations available from Glasgow with Jet2.com.

A fourth dedicated Jet2.com aircraft will also be permanently based at the airport creating over 50 new jobs and giving travellers even more options and flexibility when it comes to their 2013 travel plans.

Steve Heapy, boss of Jet2holidays said “Glasgow is an important base for us, and as we enter our third year, we are delighted to announce more new destinations our customers want.

“Local holidaymakers have been requesting services to Menorca, Murcia and Pula and we are happy to be offering these amazing destinations for 2013.

Heapy added: “Adding our fourth dedicated aircraft is also great news for the area. This will be based at Glasgow ahead of the peak holiday season in May and will allow us to offer these new destinations and even more flying.

“We’ve already added an additional weekly flight to Bodrum due to strong demand since it was launched just a few months ago.

“We are also increasing the number of seats available to Majorca, Alicante, Ibiza, Dalaman, Heraklion, Lanzarote and Tenerife,” concluded Heapy.

More than half a million seats are now available for Summer 2013, a 20 per cent increase on 2012, with increased frequency on flights to popular holiday hotspots including the Canaries, Majorca, Ibiza and Turkey.
