JAL expands in-flight internet service
Japan Airlines and Panasonic have revealed details of the improved in-flight internet service - JAL SKY Wi-Fi - offered on the carrier’s Boeing 777-300ERs departures on North America and Europe routes.
JAL has recently reached an agreement with Panasonic to aggressively install JAL SKY Wi-Fi on its international Boeing 767-300ERs, Boeing 777-200ERs and Boeing 787s operated on its south-east Asia and other international routes.
JAL SKY Wi-Fi on international routes is served through onboard eXConnect by Panasonic.
Customers in every cabin class are able to send and receive emails, update and navigate their social networking service utilising their wireless LAN devices during the flight.
One-hour plan and the plan without time limits are available for the usage fee of JAL SKY Wi-Fi, the in-flight Wi-Fi connection service that supports passengers’ own smartphones, notebook computers and other wireless LAN devices without volume limits.
The expanded service will be installed on the aircraft over the coming year.
