Butch Stewart - the man behind the world’s best all-inclusive

When Sandals Resorts International chairman and founder Gordon Butch Stewart introduced the “Luxury Included” holiday concept in 2007, he promised a reinvigorated company, committed to “choice, service and style”.

The plans that he outlined for forward growth would later come to include a dramatic expansion at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, the acquisition of Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas, the welcoming of Sandals Royal Plantation, Ocho Rios, Jamaica into the Sandals Resorts brand and the dedicated progression of significant, wide-ranging renovations most recently at Sandals Grande Riviera Beach & Villa Golf Resort, Beaches Sandy Bay and Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club.

Difference Defined

As one of the most important elements of the holiday experience, Stewart is proud of the quality and variety of the 174 dining and beverage outlets across his brands. Guests can choose from a variety of experiences, from beachside casual to white-glove formal and with a choice of authentic regional fares, including Caribbean, Japanese, Italian, French, Mediterranean and more. Top shelf liquors, including the introduction of renowned El Dorado rum and a partnership with Beringer Wines, ensure that what is in the glass is as important as what is on the plate.

Service

With one of the industry’s lowest average guest to staff ratio and with more than 12,000 employees throughout the resort company’s 18 resorts, Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts deliver highly personalised service.  The epitome of this outstanding service is their exclusive private butler service with butlers trained by the coveted Professional Guild of English Butlers.

Suite Life

From the thoughtful family suites at the new Italian Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos that provide separate spaces for kids and parents, to the spectacular over-the-water suites which will break ground this month at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Resorts International offers a variety of accommodations to suit the needs of every customer.

Exclusive suite categories include: Rondoval Suites, circular cottages complete with a private pool deck and waterfall at Sandals Grande St. Lucian; Millionaire Suites, indulgent private villas perched on a cliff at Sandals Regency La Toc; and Crystal Lagoon Swim-up Suites, featuring private pools and swim-up access to the exclusive waterways at Sandals Negril and Sandals Royal Caribbean.

On the Water

Guests who choose to play on or in the water at Sandals Resorts or Beaches Resorts receive top-notch instruction and world-class equipment as part of their Luxury Included® stay, including non-motorised watersports such as windsurfing and snorkelling.

SRI also operates the largest PADI diving program in the Caribbean with daily dives included in their holiday experience, featuring top-of-the line equipment including specialised Newton dive boats with freshwater showers and ladders for convenience. Guests have access to over 204 spectacularly different dive sites, up to as many as thirty per resort.  They also certify divers at every level of PADI certification, from Scuba Diver all the way up to Dive Master, and specialty courses, including Nitrox enriched air.  At Beaches Resorts, one-of-a-kind swimming and scuba programs are available for junior dive enthusiasts.  Non-certified divers may also become resort or PADI certified as part of their experience.

Hole in One

With three challenging and pristinely maintained courses in Jamaica, St. Lucia and The Bahamas, golfers staying at Sandals Resorts can practice their swing in paradise using the latest TaylorMade equipment.  Guests in Jamaica and St. Lucia will sink their putts at Sandals Golf & Country Club in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and at Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa in St. Lucia, respectively.  Visitors to the resort company’s newest property, Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas will have the opportunity to tee off at the Greg Norman-designed Sandals Emerald Reef Club.

Partners in Success

From California’s renowned Beringer Vineyards and Martha Stewart Living, to Waterford Crystal, Rolls Royce, Sesame Workshop and the Guild of Professional English Butlers, Sandals Resorts International has acquired a litany of good friends that make life at these Caribbean resorts that much richer.

Corporate Responsibility

Corporate social responsibility has been an operations mandate at SRI since the company was founded in 1981. From sponsoring schools and conducting health screenings to supporting local farmers and creating marine sanctuaries, more than 12,000 SRI employees throughout the Caribbean are given opportunities to participate in caring for the communities where Sandals Resorts International operates and beyond.  Through the Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic organisation of SRI that launched in 2009, guests also have the opportunity to give back to the surrounding Caribbean region.
