Ink takes over publication of Vera magazine for Virgin Atlantic

British actress Annabelle Wallis has opened up about her personal life and lessons from Madonna in a tell-all interview with Vera magazine.

Global travel media company Ink chose English rose Annabelle Wallis to lead the debut issue of the international airline’s revamped magazine, which will be available from October to all Virgin Atlantic customers.

The new-look Vera magazine features a-list star interviews, insightful editorial, original travel features, destination reviews and tips from across the Virgin Atlantic global route network.

Fresh from a scintillating performance alongside Tom Cruise in summer blockbuster The Mummy, Vera cover star Wallis talks about the challenges of staying down to earth in Hollywood and how she would be the perfect companion in the Apocalypse, as well as how a chance meeting with Madonna is one of the most important and inspiring moments of her glittering career.

The glamorous magazine, one of 28 produced by Ink, also features a behind-the-scenes look into LA’s real-life Baywatch scene, Edgar Wright on Baby Driver’s killer soundtrack and a look inside Cuba’s newest exclusive five-star hotel.

Claire Bennie, editor of Vera, said: “The overhaul of the magazine has seen a new look and feel implemented, as well as a restructure of its editorial content.

“In keeping with this dynamic brand, its focus is now on upbeat entertainment and lifestyle content, and is unlike anything else currently in the inflight market.”

The international deal, signed earlier this year, also means Ink will manage ambient advertising opportunities across the Virgin Atlantic media portfolio from the New Year.

Ink chief executive, Michael Keating, added: “Vera is accessible to Virgin Atlantic’s six million global customers every year.

“Inflight travel media is a unique opportunity to reach a captive and growing market – something that is unparalleled in any other print medium.

“It is no surprise therefore that advertisers are already lining up to be part of it. Our first issue features desirable premium brands such as the world’s bestselling vodka Grey Goose, luxury Caribbean hotel group Elegant Hotels and Swiss-made watch specialists Christopher Ward.”
