Iconic Sofitel New York Embarks on Grand Renewal Under Visionary Leadership

Sofitel New York, the epitome of contemporary French elegance nestled in the heart of Manhattan, announces an extensive refurbishment project, heralding a new era for the beloved French hospitality brand. Led by CEO Maud Bailly, this initiative coincides with Sofitel’s 60th anniversary, signifying a pivotal moment for the brand’s commitment to dynamic and refined luxury.

Comprehensive Refurbishment to Commence Late 2024

Sofitel New York unveils plans for a comprehensive refurbishment touching every aspect of the hotel, including its 398 guestrooms, 51 suites, and the Presidential Suite. Notable highlights of the renovation include the iconic One Bedroom Suites boasting panoramic skyline views and the Terrace Suites offering exclusive vistas of the Chrysler or Empire State Buildings. Additionally, enhancements will extend to the lobby level, meeting spaces, guest elevators, and corridors. The refurbishment is set to commence in late 2024, with the public areas expected to be completed by Fall 2025.

For over two decades, Sofitel New York has been synonymous with bringing the French art de vivre to the bustling streets of New York City. Partnering with renowned designers HBA San Francisco, the hotel’s current design melds Parisian Art Deco with 1940s Manhattan glamour. Building upon this legacy, the new designs continue to evoke a sense of timeless elegance intertwined with New York’s urban spirit. Inspired by the monumental beauty of the city’s architectural landmarks and the influence of French fashion and art movements, the renovation aims to create spaces that resonate with refined opulence. Intricate detailing, luxurious materials, and vibrant artworks will come together to embody the dynamic energy of New York’s art scene, encapsulating chic sophistication and bold irreverence.
