Hilton adds Tabuk to Saudi pipeline

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement to introduce Hilton Garden Inn Tabuk, its first hotel in Tabuk, the capital city of the Tabuk Province in North Western KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

The hotel will be developed conveniently close to the main Tabuk Highway and will have easy access to KSA’s international neighbours to the North. The 110-room hotel, the second Hilton Garden Inn in KSA, will include 10 suites and feature a fitness centre, swimming pool, an all-day dining restaurant and lobby lounge.

The new hotel, expected to open winter 2013, will also feature business facilities including a boardroom, two meeting rooms and a business centre, for Tabuk’s growing business community.

Rudi Jagersbacher, president, Hilton Worldwide, Middle East & Africa, said, “KSA presents promising development opportunities for us. Today’s signing is key as we enter another new Saudi city and embed our expansion strategy to provide quality services and products to the market. As Tabuk’s prominence as a commercial centre grows, we are inspired to grow with it.”

The announcement, in partnership with owners Adex Contracting Maintenance & Operations, will be Hilton Worldwide’s 15th pipeline hotel in KSA, and highlights the company’s growing position as the hospitality operator of choice in KSA. Within three years, Hilton Worldwide expects to grow its current portfolio of six hotels in KSA to 21 properties, offering an additional 9300 rooms to the country.

Adrian Kurre, global head, Hilton Garden Inn, said, “Hilton Garden Inn has had great success and has been well received in the KSA market since opening the Hilton Garden Inn in Riyadh in 2009. Our award-winning combination of quality hospitality and innovation at this price point has proven very successful. I’m delighted we can continue serving this market and am confident this new hotel will be a popular choice for the local community, as well as business and leisure visitors to Tabuk.”

Hilton Garden Inn hotels are designed to be highly functional and provide guests with a number of signature brand features including the pressure reducing Garden Sleep System bed, ergonomic Mirra chair and complimentary high-speed internet access. Guests also have the opportunity to earn and redeem Hilton HHonors points and to take advantage of benefits enjoyed by over 30 million members worldwide.

The city of Tabuk is widely recognised as an important en-route religious destination for pilgrims travelling between Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon and the KSA holy cities of Makkah and Medinah. The city has prospered in other areas in recent times as a result of new infrastructure projects, including major improvements to Tabuk Airport and heightened interest from many new international airlines. In addition, Tabuk also serves as the headquarters for the Northern Region’s local government offices and is home to one of KSA’s largest military bases, both of which have added to the local population and contributed to the city’s growing success.

Abdul Bin Mushabab Al Shahri on behalf of owners Adex Contracting Maintenance & Operations, said, “We’re proud to be working with the world’s leading hospitality company and looking forward to bringing such a well-known brand as Hilton Garden Inn to Tabuk.”
