Great Hotels of the World announces new hotel opening in Thailand

Great Hotels of the World has announced the opening of a brand new hotel – Mantra Samui Resort & Spa, following a three and a half year development at a cost of $20 million.

Mantra Samui Resort & Spa is a member of Great Hotels of the World Luxury Collection.

This five-star property is set in the beautiful surroundings of Koh Samui, one of Thailand’s best-known destinations. Mantra Samui Resort offers a unique approach to checking in, with no traditional front desks or lobby.

Instead guests are invited to relax in the public living room with a drink, while staff with the latest portable devices, including iPads, bring the check-in to you.

The resort’s luxury accommodation comprises 74 room concepts, including The WOW, The LOVE, The COSY and The GRAND, all with breathtaking views of Koh Samui’s northern coast.

The LOVE rooms are specially tailored for couples and honeymooners, including private jacuzzis on the terrace, while The GRAND rooms provide the ultimate family resort experience with over 100sqm of space.

Mantra Samui Resort boasts excellent facilities including a fully equipped fitness centre and juice bar, a movie theatre which can be booked for private screenings and a Salt Yoga Studio built from Himalayan salt bricks, offering a variety of yoga classes.

The resort also features an outdoor infinity pool with built-in sun beds, a complimentary shuttle service to the nearby beach and a Splendid Spa with treatments such as classic Thai massage, four-hand massage and herbal and fruit body wraps.

There are two restaurants onsite including the Ubuntu restaurant, serving creative, contemporary international cuisine and traditional Thai dishes, and Damma Dining, a unique dining experience limited to twelve people per night.

Mantra Samui Resort is also ideal for business travellers as every room comes complete with a computer and complimentary wi-fi access.

The resort can also provide specialised secretarial services and boasts meeting rooms, all with natural daylight, catering for up to 30 people.

The resort can cater weddings for up to 60 people.

Robert Mayer, General Manager of Mantra Samui, said: “We are delighted that after three and a half years of hard work, Mantra Samui is open for business.

“We have built a unique team to create a unique hotel where we can share our passion for hospitality with friends.

“Our goal is to make every guest feel better than they do in their own home.”
