Goa Tourism Showcases Unique Sustainable Travel Initiatives at WTM 2024
Goa Tourism is proud to announce its participation in the World Travel Market (WTM) London, set to take place from November 5-7, 2024, at ExCeL London. This prominent global event will gather industry leaders from around the world, offering Goa a prime platform to showcase its unique travel experiences and cutting-edge sustainable tourism initiatives.
At WTM London, Goa Tourism will highlight the state’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and forward-thinking tourism offerings, with a strong focus on regenerative and eco-conscious travel. The Goa Tourism pavilion will present a vivid display of the state’s vibrant festivals, thrilling adventure activities, historical traditions, and tranquil beaches, capturing Goa’s distinctive appeal as a top travel destination.
This year, a major focus will be on Regenerative Tourism, which goes beyond sustainability by actively revitalizing and enhancing Goa’s natural and cultural treasures. The pavilion will feature projects like hinterland tourism, heritage site conservation, wellness tourism centered on Ayurveda, and the state’s emerging reputation as a prime location for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and weddings. These initiatives are designed to support local communities and ensure environmental preservation for future generations.
Visitors to the pavilion will also have the opportunity to explore the Ekadasha Teertha Circuit, a spiritual journey through 11 historic temples in Goa. Another highlight will be the upcoming Exposition of St. Francis Xavier, which will be held from November 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa. Additionally, the pavilion will showcase the International Film Festival of India, inviting film enthusiasts to engage with Goa’s vibrant cinematic culture.
The engaging displays and presentations at the Goa Tourism pavilion will reflect the state’s commitment to promoting responsible tourism that protects both the environment and cultural heritage. This event also presents an excellent opportunity for the Goan diaspora in London to reconnect with their roots and learn about the latest developments in tourism from their homeland.
