Today, the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, expressed support for the deal reached on new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) legislation. The legislation will ensure a long-term authorization for the FAA as well as an acceleration of NextGen – the modernized air traffic control system.

"We commend Congress on the FAA agreement," said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA Executive Director and COO. "Long advocated by GBTA, the multi-year reauthorization delivers a $281 billion net benefit for the economy and represents a better way of doing business. We also commend the committee for not including tax increases on top of today's significant traveler tax burden, another GBTA priority."

McCormick concluded: "Business travel depends on aviation. NextGen is critical for the future of our nation's economy. NextGen means fewer flight delays, fewer ground delays and fewer missed business opportunities due to flight cancellations – all essential for busy business travelers."
