fastjet to offer in-flight gaming with Planet Toccer

fastjet has announced it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with leading technology company Planet Toccer, a Monaco private equity-backed group that invests in and develops US mobile game technology, and is developing patented technology solutions in creating mobile and web content supporting MMORPG sites and micro games on all global platforms.

Under the terms of the mutually beneficial MoU, fastjet will offer “freemium” mobile sports game applications created under Planet Toccer’s Space Sports franchise to its customers via its digital platforms.

Space Sports’ free-to-download games generate revenue via in-game enhancements and player inducements, advertising and merchandizing. By playing these games, fastjet’s customers will have the opportunity to win a range of prizes, including free flights and tickets to leading sporting events.

Planet Toccer will benefit from the reach of the fastjet brand, both within Africa and globally.

The two companies have agreed to share in revenues generated by this cross-promotion of their businesses.

In addition to this, a percentage of revenues generated by the collaboration will go to charitable programmes dedicated to the protection of African elephants and rhinoceroses.

fastjet chief executive Ed Winter commented on the venture: “fastjet is delighted to be entering this exciting partnership with Planet Toccer, which will allow both parties to benefit from the expertise and brand strength of the other.

“The project reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and introducing innovative new services to our clients.”
