Explore the Wonders of Kazakhstan on a New 13-Day Archaeology Tour for 2025

After an eight-year absence, archaeology tours specialist Andante Travels is returning to the fascinating central Asian country of Kazakhstan, which is brimming with historical and cultural sites just waiting to be explored.


The country, the ninth largest in the world, is steeped in history and an archaeological paradise. The new 13-day tour combines the cities and nomadic empires of the past, with the majestic landscape of high mountains, green valleys and remote underground mosques.

The tour begins in Almaty and ends in the modern capital of Astana, taking a deep dive into a host of key sites and attractions along the way. Highlights include: the blue tiled wonder of the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi; viewing the thousands of petroglyphs decorating the rocks at Tamgaly from the Bronze and Iron Ages and exploring the ancient city of Sauran, a former hub of the Silk Road whose ruins now stands alone amidst the Kazakh Steppe.

The Kazakhstan tour departs on 27 September 2025 and costs £4,695 per person includes return flights from London into Almaty and out of Astana, 11-nights’ accommodation (two sharing) during the tour including most meals, coach transfers throughout, services of expert guide and tour manager, all entrance fees, gratuities and taxes.
