Dates confirmed for Bath Christmas market 2012

Organisers of Bath Christmas Market, Bath Tourism Plus, have announced the dates for this year’s event as 22nd November – 9th December 2012. Set against a magical backdrop of Bath’s majestic Abbey and amongst the city’s quaint Georgian streets, Bath Christmas Market - the biggest Christmas Shopping event in the South West - is a very British Christmas market that is a showcase for the best of Bath and the South West.

Consisting of more than over 130 traditional wooden chalets, selling a variety of high-quality products such as Christmas decorations, gifts, toys, clothes, household and locally produced festive food, the event has a wonderfully romantic atmosphere, with tempting fare and gentle entertainment befitting the time of year, helping to build the anticipation of the celebrations to come.

The market’s location, in the heart of the city, is perfect for visitors to enjoy all that the city has to offer – a wonderful mix of high street and designer shops, fascinating attractions and warm, inviting cafes and bars.

Chief Executive of Bath Tourism Plus, Nick Brooks-Sykes says: ‘Bath Christmas Market is growing in popularity every year, as many people make the event one of their Christmas traditions.  The event is great for putting people in the mood for the festive season, and Bath’s other highlights – great shopping, museums, galleries and relaxing spas, as well as the many other Christmas events happening in the city, make Bath the best place to give yourself a pre-Christmas treat.’

With the event always proving popular, last year it attracted more than 350,000 visitors to the city over its 18 days duration, and recorded its busiest ever first weekend since the markets began in 2001.  Bath Tourism Plus therefore encourages visitors to book their accommodation now.
