Community Development Authority staff attend workshop on the UAE’s bid to host Expo 2020
The latest in a series of briefing sessions organised for government departments across the UAE, the workshop provided CDA staff with background on this important national effort, as well as tools with which to promote it.
Recently, the Expo 2020 bid team has conducted similar workshops for a wide range of public-sector stakeholders, including Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Dubai Land Department and the Roads & Transport Authority, with plans to host similar workshops with additional government entities nationwide.
During the briefing with the CDA, a government entity mandated with enhancing social development in Dubai, the bid team shared insights into why the UAE is ideally placed to welcome the world in 2020, and how the event will benefit the local community and the country as a whole. Attendees also learned how they can take part in this ongoing awareness campaign by including the official Expo 2020 logo on the CDA website, presentations, stationary and email signatures, and by sharing relevant news and information with colleagues.
“The 2020 World Expo represents a unique opportunity for Dubai and the UAE to share our story with the world – including how we successfully promote both local identity and social cohesion in this truly global city,” said His Excellency Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of the Community Development Authority. “We are pleased to take part in this important national effort, and look forward to extending our full support.”
