Colony Beach & Tennis Resort Back In Business

Colony Beach & Tennis Resort Back In Business

The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort, long recognized as one of the Gulf Coast’s premier hospitality properties, announces its reopening.  The spirit of the season shines brightly on the resort, as The Colony begins accepting new reservations immediately for the holiday season and beyond.

“We are elated to announce the reopening of our doors on December 18, and look forward to welcoming back guests to The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort.  Just in time for the holidays, our focus turns now to hiring approximately 40 professionals to fill open positions and ensure our facilities are prepared for the arrival of our guests,” stated Colony President and General Manager, Katherine Klauber Moulton.

The Colony is celebrating reopening with special pricing on suites during the December holiday period including a 3rd night free promotion and a luxurious overnight New Year’s Eve package featuring two tickets to the resort’s festive New Year’s Eve Gala, a spacious one-bedroom suite for two guests, a welcome basket of treats for breakfast the next morning and a late check-out on New Year’s Day for $465 per couple (additional nights at $225.)  For reservations and more information call 941.383.6464 or visit www.colonybeachresort.com.

The Colony will begin readying suites, contacting vendors and training staff in anticipation of guests after a two-month suspension of hotel operations, which was the result of entering into Chapter 11 restructuring.  It is hoped that some employees who were dismissed during the stoppage and have not found positions elsewhere will return as the resort resumes services of its famed tennis and recreational programs, and other amenities.  Hundreds of guests who were holding reservations will now be able to experience their planned holiday or business gathering at the resort.  Throughout the reorganization process, The Colony Dining Room, Monkey Room Bar and catering operations continued to serve guests exquisite, award-winning cuisine and deliver a multiplicity of creative and affordable food & wine events.

“I’m overjoyed that our resort facilities will reopen and guests will not only again enjoy our acclaimed hospitality in the hotel but also the restaurants resumption of seven day a week lunch and dinner service,” said Dr. Murf Klauber, the General Partner of the Limited Partnership and Operating Manager of the resort.  “We appreciate the generous outpouring of community and industry support as we worked expeditiously to resume hotel operations, and I wish to apologize again to our business partners and displaced guests and employees who were caught in our sudden suspension of operations and reorganization of the resort.”
