Cheap tickets available from Nottingham to London to mark station reopening

With just over a week to go until Nottingham station reopens, East Midlands Trains has launched an extra-special deal for passengers with tickets to London priced from just £10.

To celebrate the reopening of the station and also designed as a thank you for passengers’ patience during the multi-million pound re-signalling works, East Midlands Trains is offering hundreds of thousands of bargain train tickets.  Priced from just £10 for a single ticket between Nottingham and London, the tickets can be booked from today for travel between Monday 26 August and Sunday 15 December.

Neil Micklethwaite, Customer Service & Commercial Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “There’s now just over a week to go until Network Rail complete the major re-signalling scheme at Nottingham and we are getting ready to welcome everybody back into the station.

“We’ve had some really positive feedback from our customers throughout the work and it’s clear that our years of planning have paid off.  All the little extra things we have done, such as lending umbrellas to customers during heavy rain, giving out cakes to mark the birth of the Royal baby and having live bands playing at the station, have helped to ensure that our customers have really enjoyed their journey with us.

“We wanted to do something really special for our customers to thank them for their patience during the works and at the same time, have an opportunity for them to experience the improvements made through the re-signalling works.

“This is one of our best ever offers, and with over a quarter of a million tickets available to London from just £20 return, we hope that people will take advantage of the deal and sample Nottingham’s new railway.”

To promote the ticket offer, leaflets will be distributed to households around Nottingham and will be handed out in Nottingham City Centre over the weekend.
