Centara opens the first Boutique Collection resort in Vietnam

Centara opens the first Boutique Collection resort in Vietnam

Operated under a management contract and previously known as Chen La Resort & Spa, Chen Sea Resor & Spa is Centara’s fourth property in an overseas destination.

Gerd Steeb, President of Centara Hotels&Resorts, said: “We are very pleased and proud to be announcing the addition of Chen Sea Resort & Spa, and we believe Vietnam holds immense tourism potential for the future.

“This is part of our strategy of working closely with overseas business partners to develop a strong portfolio of prime properties in overseas destinations.”

A unique feature of the resort is that the 12 large pool and spa villas were originally traditional timber houses in the Vietnamese port city of Hoi An, shipped to the island of Phu Quoc, and rebuilt as luxury holiday accommodation.

Chris Bailey, Senior Vice President for Centara Hotels & Resorts, said: “Chen Sea Resort & Spa is a superb addition to our Centara Boutique Collection brand, fitting in perfectly with the concept designed for cosmopolitan travelers who prefer a more individual style of holiday.

“Phu Quoc is growing quickly as a premier Vietnamese beach destination, and the resort offers both seclusion and convenience, as the local airport is only 15 minutes away.”

The resort features a spa, an ocean-facing swimming pool, and tennis courts.

Mediterranean cuisine is served at the seafront Il Ristorante, with Phu Quoc’s fishing heritage reflected in the selection of fresh seafood dishes on the menu, while Ghe Lounge Bar, also on the seafront, offers international cocktails and drinks.

The resort has a 22-foot sailing boat, along with a selection of Hobie Cats, Lasers, and dinghies, and a speedboat is available for exploring the coastline. Diving trips can be arranged at the dive center, and watersports such as windsurfing, kayaking, and snorkeling are all readily available.

All the villas have a private terrace with views of the ocean, and all are equipped with amenities that include LCD television, DVD player, digital safety box, mini-bar, coffee and tea maker, and Wi-Fi.

The resort is designed to host corporate meetings, conferences, and workshops, with two meeting rooms that accommodate groups ranging from 10 to 100 people. Conferences, workshops, and themed events packages can be arranged, and full supporting technical equipment is available.
