Cayman Islands Department of Tourism Kicks Off Caribbean Tourism Month with Full Calendar

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) invites residents and visitors to experience the natural beauty and culture of the islands this November as part of Caribbean Tourism Month. In partnership with the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) and its member countries, CIDOT is launching an exciting calendar of events under this year’s theme, “One Caribbean: Building a Resilient Future.”

From community events and trivia nights to a farm-to-table cultural evening, CIDOT’s lineup is designed to engage and inspire both residents and visitors. The month-long celebration emphasises the importance of sustainable tourism while showcasing the Cayman Islands’ rich cultural heritage and the department’s commitment to fostering a resilient tourism industry.

The series of events kickstarts with a weekly blog series, hosted on the Visit Cayman Islands website, to highlight unique tourism attractions across the islands. Each blog post will offer insights into the historical, environmental, and wellness significance of these sites, encouraging the community to reconnect with local attractions.

‘Tourism Matters’ Series Launch – Parliamentary Luncheon | Thursday, November 14

In collaboration with the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, CIDOT will launch the ‘Tourism Matters’ series at a Parliamentary Luncheon on Thursday, November 14, with Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism and Ports, Hon. Kenneth Bryan delivering the keynote address. This initiative aims to educate and inspire pride in tourism’s economic and cultural contributions, encouraging collaboration to ensure the Cayman Islands is positioned as a leading example of sustainable tourism in the Caribbean.

Trivia Night – Sandbar | Wednesday, November 20

CIDOT is hosting a tourism-themed trivia night, engaging participants in a fun, light-hearted atmosphere to celebrate Caribbean culture and tourism. The event takes place at Sandbar on Wednesday, November 20 and will offer prizes that encourage winners to explore local attractions, promoting tourism awareness and fostering community connection.

Farm-to-Table Cultural Evening – Cayman Cabana | Thursday, November 21

CIDOT will spotlight Caymanian heritage through a unique dining experience at Cayman Cabana. This event will feature live storytelling, poetry, music, and local artisanal products, all enhancing the weekly farm-to-table experience hosted at the restaurant. With a focus on sustainable dining practices, this evening aims to immerse participants in Caymanian culture while supporting local agriculture.

Global Call to Earth Community Clean-Up and Breakfast – East End | Sunday, November 24

In partnership with Plastic Free Cayman and as part of CNN International’s “Global Call to Earth” initiative, CIDOT invites the public to join a community beach clean-up taking place at the seawall across the road from the East End Primary school. Volunteers will receive branded unifying shirts, and all participants will be treated to a breakfast celebration to express the department’s appreciation. This initiative highlights the Cayman Islands’ commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable tourism practices.

Global Call to Earth ‘Letters to Future Self’ – All Students | Concludes Wednesday, November 20

This thoughtful campaign encourages students to write letters to their future selves, reflecting on their commitment to environmental preservation. All participants will receive an Earth Student Ambassador certificate, and a collage of their letters will be shared on Wednesday, November 27, along with photos from the community clean-up. By encouraging youth environmental awareness, this initiative emphasises the department’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of environmental advocates.
